Volunteer at Saint Joseph Home
St. Joseph Home is blessed to have a wonderful group of volunteers that assist us with everything from laundry and sewing or mending clothing, to helping us with activities, or visiting with residents. Volunteers must be at least 15 years of age, and complete a volunteer training program.
Resident volunteers generally make a long- term commitment for at least a year and visit with a selected resident for two hours a week in the evenings or on the weekend. A resident volunteer typically helps with swimming, reading to a resident, or just taking the resident for a walk around grounds.
Activities volunteers usually assist with scheduled group activities or community outings in the evenings or on the weekends. Long-term commitments of a year or more are not necessary for activities volunteers.
St. Joseph Home also can utilize volunteers for our summer fundraising events, the Golf Classic and the 5K Race. Over 100 volunteers are needed for our annual 5K Race, and this is a good opportunity for someone to be involved at the Home for a single day.
