The Harold C. Schott Respite Center provides short-term care for up to eight guests.

The Harold C. Schott Respite Center was opened as part of St. Joseph Home in 1998. Respite services are provided to give families caring for a special needs child at home a well-deserved break. Our respite program is designed for non-ambulatory children and young adults with severe/profound mental and physical disabilities. Nursing and direct care staff provide 24-hour personal and medical care.

Respite Care

The respite center is licensed by the Ohio Department of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities. Payment for respite services may be covered through Medicaid or a variety of waiver programs, private payment, Hamilton County Family Resource Center, or the St. Joseph Home Family Respite Access Fund (scholarship). The Respite Access Fund was established to give financial aid to families in need and to ensure no family would ever be turned away for lack of ability to pay.
